PARENT AIDES: Parent Aide Mentors are special volunteers who commit a year to working with a family referred by Child Protective Services or the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. These are families at risk of abuse or with abusive histories. Mentors commit to a year of working with the family, and visit weekly in the home with professional supervision. Extensive training, interviews, and criminal background checks are required.

CHILDREN'S FACILITATORS: Families First Divorce Education Program - Volunteers are needed to work one Saturday per month with the children of divorcing parents. Extensive training, interviews, and criminal background checks are required. Volunteers must commit to four Saturdays, annually, and attend an eight-hour training session.

SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME EDUCATORS: Volunteers are needed to present Shaken Baby Syndrome education to high schools and community groups. Training is provided once a year in January.

ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEERS: CAP Center always needs office volunteers to answer phones and do light secretarial work. We ask a commitment of 4 hours twice a month on a regularly scheduled basis.
